Technical Specialist Fund Operations

 

Team Overview

The Fund Operations team is made up of 19 people with monitoring roles. The team primary responsibilities are to manage all processes related to the supervision duties of the Management Company on the delegated fund administration function. They are also to measure and report on the quality of outsourced service providers and of deliverables.

The Technical Specialist Fund Operations will report into the Head of Fund Operations (who reports into the Head of Cash & Fund Operations).


Overview of role

Maintain and develop high quality control framework

1. Periodic and ad hoc review of operational procedures & systems: identify possible weaknesses, assess impact and implement corrective actions

2. Liaising with Internal Audit and Operational Risk

3. Resolution of errors and develop operational remedial actions

4. Reporting to Senior Management

5. Ensure all staff members are sufficiently trained and coached to avoid errors or control breaks

Outsourced service providers supervision

1. Day-to-day monitoring of providers operations

2. First point of escalation for operational issues

3. Identify and report any potential lack of controls, assess potential impact and propose corrective actions & procedures

Operational input in business and product development

1. Assess impact of development  initiative on in- and outsourced operations

2. Assess operational feasibility and impact on control procedures

3. Establish best solution to address identified need and make proposals to address and improve identified weaknesses

4. Consult with external parties and advisors as appropriate

5. Coordinate implementation from business perspective

Proven knowledge of Derivatives Products, both OTC and ETD.

Involved in decisions on Fair Valuation and associated processes


Essential Skills

• At least 10 years' experience in Fund Operations;

• Sound understanding of the UCITS and AIF operations and regulations;

• Excellent English both written and orally;

• Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with both internal and external stakeholders, and to senior management

• Good analytical and problem solving skills, supporting the identification of issues and the suggestion of appropriate solutions

• Fluency in English, both orally and written

• Excellent command of Excel and other standard IT tools

• Excellent organizational skills

• Attention to detail

 

Desirable Skills

• Sound understanding of Bloomberg/Reuters and pControl
