Since the establishment of Shanghai and Beijing representative offices in the 1990s, and Schroders’ joint venture company, BOCOM Schroder Fund Management Co., Ltd., in 2005, Schroders has been present in the China market for more than 20 years. Schroders is deeply committed to further develop its business in China and has been actively participating in business initiatives rolled out in China such as QFII, RQFII, QDII, as well as Mutual Recognition of Funds (MRF) between the Mainland and Hong Kong. In 2015, Schroders established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Schroder Investment Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., a WFOE headquartered in Shanghai with a branch in Beijing. The WFOE obtained private fund management licence from Asset Management Association of China in 2017.

Job Summary

This is a middle level role, mainly responsible for client facing sales activities and execution, with the potential to cover both institutional and intermediary channels. Product range include both cross-border investment and onshore PFM strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To draft and update sales materials, including presentations, RPI, RFP, and additional Q&A. 
  • To develop and maintain client relationship, gain business opportunities, as well as support team sales efforts and other ad-hoc activities. 
  • To attend industry events to ensure Schroders’ presence in the industry. 
  • To work closely with Marketing Team for corporate marketing events to strengthen and promote our company profile. 
  • To facilitate business activities, including marketing trips by investment teams, fund roadshows, client seminars and investor education events.

Essential Skills

  • Well trained interpersonal, sales, and presentation skills, as well as passion for sales. 
  • Sound financial and asset management knowledge.
  • Strong execution ability, able to thoroughly follow through business opportunities, and good at multi-tasking. 
  • Efficient and responsive to external and internal requests, some of which could be frequent and spontaneous. 
  • Organized, careful, patient, and dedicated. 
  • Diligent and self-motivated. 
  • Willing to travel and at some point the travelling rate could be frequent.
