Associate Product Manager – Asia ex Japan Equities
As part of the Asian Equity team, you will primarily assist but not limited to Greater China equities in terms of coordinating and hosting client meetings. You will coordinate product-related communications, including process descriptions and marketing & client communication documentation. Assist in the management of product-related consultant relationships and involvement in product-related new business pitches. Additionally be responsible for account management, covering oversight of Hong Kong as well as international clients whose equity accounts are managed by investors in Hong Kong in order to increase client satisfaction, earn clients’ trust and loyalty, as well as improve revenue/profitability of accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management

Act as primary contact for, but not limited to, international clients invested in, but not limited to, Greater China Equities managed by Hong Kong based investors, working with existing product executive team in support.

Establish good working relationships by understanding fully each client's requirements and building up rapport with the contact person(s).

Respond in a timely and comprehensive manner to all requests and queries on primarily Greater China, as well as other relevant product from clients, and also internal requests from the Schroders various distribution teams.

Identify ways to anticipate and better fulfil client requirements by soliciting their feedback

Ensure integrity of data/information supplied to clients.

Attend investment review and any other meetings for each client as may be required.

Monitor each client's financial/economic situation and also assess its future potential value to Schroders.

Assist in organising itinerary for visiting overseas clients and Schroders colleagues.

Ensure that the client profile and investment restrictions are accurately maintained.
Portfolio Management – Knowledge and Communication

Monitor and acquire knowledge of all areas of the Greater China products. Understanding how the portfolios are positioned, what are the main contributions to tracking error, and how the portfolios are likely to perform under various market conditions. Be in a position to be able to describe all the main portfolio characteristics to clients and the reasons behind these characteristics.

Gain full understanding of the portfolios and their strategy such that are able to communicate both verbally and written why portfolios are positioned the way they are and why we hold/don’t hold certain stocks.

Enhancing the communication of the process and Greater China strategies; providing a consistent message as a centralised source of information for all users of the product.

Assist in coordinate Greater China reporting and marketing materials (both written commentary and chart packs) on a timely basis. All material should tie in with the portfolio policy such that it is both informative and relevant to the client’s understanding of investment policy.

Development and maintenance of client reporting materials, new business materials, databases and general information on the products in conjunction with product executives.

Promoting the product through Group marketing personnel. To act as product champion, seeking to establish maximum sales capacity for the product range.
Internal management

Establish internal working relationships for each client (fund manager, FMA and portfolio administrator).

Coordinate with Fund Manager, FMAs, Operations, Compliance and Legal on all changes to the investment management agreement documentation as well as routine operational matters affecting the portfolios. Liaise with Fund Managers, FMAs, Operations and Compliance over queries, when appropriate.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following requisites:

Degree graduate with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience

Proficient in both verbal and written Chinese as this role require to support China

Strong knowledge on investment technicalities
